The genius of the painter and that of the scientist are combined in the perspective solution found by Leonardo to have the observer a participant in the event: the real surroundings continue into the artificial one, the perspective is carried out on the wall at the end of the room on which the scene is painted, creating a new, dramatic relationship between the observer and the evangelical event."
